California dreamin’ …

…on such a winter’s day.

It is freezing in Michigan today (like -14 degrees freezing), so my mind is wandering back to a trip we took a couple months ago to sunny LA, to explore the Pacific Design Center and the LA mart.  A super productive trip which yielded new inspirations, many new contacts and great sources, but I think my favorite part was our awesome digs, the Ace Hotel in downtown LA.  Classy, hip, retro and chock-full of unique design touches around every corner, we loved every inch of this place.

Housed in the original United Artists Building with the historic United Artists Theater, the building is full of character all on its own.  It even held Sunday services for Gene Scott’s Ministry for about fifteen years before being restored and reopened as the hotel in 2014 (hence the large ‘Jesus Saves’ neon sign – the building was once said to hold the largest private Bible collection in the world!)  Absolutely worth a look if you are looking for a cool place to stay in LA.
